There ARE magic tricks to make your computer faster and more like the day it was new, all you need to know is what to look for. Here is a description of our 12 point PC tuneup:

 

  • Backup all data located in the My Documents folder & on the Desktop to CD/DVD. 
  • Document system components including hard drive space and run a speed test. Also, when complete, you will be provided with full documentation about what was done to tune and secure your PC.
  • Remove system clogging software: Using MS Add/Remove Software, all unwanted or dangerous software is uninstalled. Including any outdated anti-virus & anti-spyware software.
  • Windows Disk Check: This is a MS Windows program that checks your files & hard drive for defects.
  • Install and run free, permanent, anti-virus software.
  • Install and run free, permanent, anti-spyware software (Windows 2000 and above).
  • Run Windows Updates: download and install any updates until your system is 100% up to date.
  • Windows Disk Cleanup: This is a MS Windows program to remove unwanted temporary files, system dump files, and MS Error Reporting files.
  • Privacy and registry scan using Ccleaner: This will scan your PC for Internet files, cookies, unneeded text and setup files. Then, your PC's registry is scanned for unneeded entries. This gets rid of unwanted clutter and improves privacy.
  • Windows drive Defragmentation: This optimizes the files on your hard drive to speed up your computer.
  • Check security via MS Services, check MS Firewall: Tuning the Services that automatically run on your PC can improve performance and security. Also, making sure your MS Firewall is configured properly will increase security.
  • Remove dust from the inside of desktops, as well as clean the keyboard and monitor on laptops.
